Funding

The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association is partly funded, for some of its services, by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care through the South East Local Health Integration Network (SE LHIN). The remaining 40% of the annual budget is generated through the on-going, generous support of individuals through donations, memberships, bequests and other forms of planned giving.

Community Care also holds many fundraising events each year such as Tag Day, raffles and an auction. Many local contributions are also made each year by service clubs, businesses, and community groups.

Community Care is a not-for profit, charitable organization and issues income tax receipts.

Charitable Registration Number: 119103059 RR 0001

Monthly Giving

An easy way to provide ongoing support for Community Care is to establish monthly giving. Just send us a blank cheque marked "VOID" along with your written instructions about the monthly amount you wish to donate. Your donation can then be paid directly to us on a monthly basis.

Planned Giving

Planned Giving is any gift or bequest that is arranged now to provide funds in the future. It is your opportunity to invest in the future of your community.
A planned gift helps secure the future of the people who are cared for by Community Care. You can know the satisfaction of helping others while also taking advantage of the financial and tax breaks available through planned giving.

Types of Planned Giving

"For specific information on planned giving options contact your financial planner, or lawyer."

1.Wills:
A bequest to Community Care in your will is the simplest and most common way to arrange a planned gift. There are different types of bequests. Your lawyer, accountant or estate planner can help you decide which is best for you.

2.Gifts of Insurance:
A gift of life insurance is another easy way to support Community Care. Almost any type of life insurance can be used as a charitable gift by naming Prince Edward Community Care as the owner or beneficiary of your policy. Contact your accountant or financial planner for more information on this form of planned giving.

3.Charitable Annuities:
Donors may choose to give Community Care a gift or donation of a sum of money, with which an annuity is purchased. The donor receives an income, usually for the rest of his or her life. On the death of the donor, Community Care receives the balance of the annuity. An appropriate tax deduction (receipt) is available at the time the annuity is purchased. Contact your accountant or financial planner for more information on this form of planned giving.
