Gifts with care

November 14, 2011

Do you want to give the gift of care to friends and family at Christmas?

Finding appropriate gifts for senior members on your Christmas list can be frustrating, so Community Care for Seniors has assembled a selection of items to appeal to all tastes.

The prices are right, and the items are geared to seniors’ needs and or interests.

Holidays and food go together, so consider giving hearty, healthy meals. Community Care provides hot meals in most areas of The County. Give your loved one home delivery of great food, free delivery and a security check, too.

The agency also supplies a line of no-fuss, no-muss complete frozen meals. The 30+ different combinations have been developed with the nutritional needs of seniors in mind, and can be heated either in a conventional oven or a microwave. People on special diets can also order these meals by selecting from the diabetic menus or gluten-free diets. Those who require minced or pureed foods can choose from a special selection of entrees. Gift certificates and information sheets detailing the menus are available at the Community Care office. A $27 gift certificate would purchase six frozen entrees. Desserts and soups are also available for $1.60 each. Free delivery to the home is included.

There’s more. A silent auction of amazing items closes at 3 p.m. sharp on Nov. 19th. Until then, the items may be viewed in the window of the Thrift Shop at 281 Main St., Picton.
