Seniors Luncheon Social in Consecon

Carrolle and Ken Wright won the prize for coming up with the new name for Prince Edward Community Care’s noontime meals for seniors. The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association is celebrating 30 years of these meals for seniors with big changes launched in the fall of 2009. The new name of the program has now been chosen. 32 submissions were received of ideas for the name in response to a contest.  Thirteen different people provided their ideas and the winners of the contest to name the program were Carrolle and Ken Wright from Consecon.  The prize for the winners was gift certificates for 5 meals at the Seniors Luncheon Social.

Caterers, Bill & Marni Grieve of Wheel House & Occasions Catering, regularly provide a tasty meal with menus as follows: homemade soup, roast beef with gravy and horseradish, mashed potatoes, buttered corn, bread and butter, coleslaw, and rice pudding for dessert.  Seniors are thrilled with the excellent food.

The price for the Seniors Luncheon Social is $10.00/person and reservations are necessary. Upcoming Seniors Luncheon Social dates can be found on the “upcoming events” page of this website.  Seniors must call and reserve by 12 noon on the Monday prior to the luncheon.  Participants are asked to bring their own plate, cup and cutlery, and a bowl for soup.
