Hearing help is available

The Canadian Hearing Society, in partnership with Prince Edward Community Care, is presenting Hearing Help Classes, Level 1. This course is designed for the hard of hearing person who is experiencing difficulty communicating in day-to-day situations.

The course will do the following: teach speech reading skills and discourse strategies; give information on the hearing system, hearing loss and its ramifications as well as other related topics; give instruction on hearing aid use and how to obtain maximum benefit from hearing aids; discuss and demonstrate technical devices; develop practical strategies for difficult listening situations; and help people to become aware of and more comfortable in expressing communication needs.

The Canadian Hearing Society is a not-for-profit organization that supports those who are hard of hearing to cope with everyday living.

Debbie MacDonald Moynes, executive director of Community Care encourages seniors to "sign up now to take the course. We only offer this exceptional course infrequently so don't wait until next time to participate."

The course will be held at The Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors Association office in The Armoury from October 12th to November 23rd, on Tuesdays, from 9:30 to 11:30am. The cost is $20.00 per person.  Participants are invited to bring along a friend or family member at no extra cost.
